What do you need to do to make this your happiest time?

My Wednesday Wish for you is that you Own Your Narrative.

In the movie Eternity, people arrive in the afterlife at the age they were happiest. The characters joke that there are a lot of 10-year-old boys running around.

It’s funny — and a little unsettling.

If you were to enter eternity at the age you were happiest, when would that be? A childhood summer? Early career success? A season when the kids were little? A time before responsibility felt heavy?

What would have to be different in your life right now for this to be your happiest season?

So often, we quietly tether our happiness to external factors — the promotion, the clean diagnosis, the relationship working out, the revenue target being hit. When happiness depends on circumstances, we become victims of whatever reality delivers.

But when we choose our narrative — when we decide to notice joy, to cultivate gratitude, to align our days with our values — we begin to author our own reality.

That doesn’t mean denying hardship. It means refusing to give it the final word.

What’s one thing you can do this week to tilt toward joy?

Call the friend.

Block the margin.

Start the project.

Get outside.

Release the resentment.

Happiness isn’t always a lightning strike.

Sometimes it’s a discipline. A choice. A quiet recalibration.

My wish for you is that when eternity calls your number, it finds you right here — fully alive in this season — because you decided it was worthy of being your happiest.
