How Are You Experienced?

How others experience us IS our responsibility.
My Wednesday Wish for you is the courage to look in the mirror before you look out the window.
You’ve likely heard the phrase, “What you think about me is none of my business.” And there’s truth in that. I can’t manage everyone’s opinions.
But how you experience me?That is my business. And it’s my responsibility.
Self-awareness invites a harder question:What is it like to be on the other side of me?
What tendencies create clarity, trust, and forward movement?Which ones derail connection or momentum?
If I’m not happy with my current reality—in my work, my leadership, or my relationships—the first place I need to look is inward.
For those of us who are thinkers, we often anchor in credibility and competency.Do you think I can do it? Do you think I will?We focus on results, excellence, and follow-through. And that matters. But when the task becomes the only focus, we can unintentionally neglect the relational space where trust is built.
For those of us who are feelers, we often anchor in chemistry and character.Do you like me? Do you trust me?We value harmony and connection. And that matters too. But if relationship is our only focus, we may avoid hard conversations or miss the discipline required to accomplish what we said we would.
Most of us lean naturally one way. Growth asks us to strengthen the other.
Influence is built when people both trust our heart and trust our execution.
So this week, pause and ask someone you trust:What is it like to be on the other side of me?
My wish for you is the self-awareness to own your impact—and the courage to adjust it.
